Mike's Week Reads and Ranks

Dan Didio has not been writing it since issue 6. It is J.M. Dematteis. J.M. Dematteis has been co-writing since issue 4. Having said that I thought OMAC was a 5/5 book too and that was Didio. I also liked his take on the Challengers of the Unknown. My only complaint there is they rushed a conclusion.

The way Didio was pushing the title at Comic-Con had me thinking he was still writing it. Dematteis is a good writer.

The art style on OMAC didn't click with me but I did like the Challengers of the Unknown in DC Universe Presents. I agree that the conclusion was rushed.

Very short reading stack this week but I was at Baltimore Comic Con and did not read that much only on the flight. Instead of listing the .1 I just listed the villain featured on the cover.

You weren't a fan of the Villains issues? May I ask what you did or didn't like?

Personally I enjoyed most of these issues, the one slight complaint was the mix between origin or early stories and things taking place currently (right after the events of Forever Evil #1). I kind of wish they had taken one approach to these titles.

That is essentially the same sort of ratings I use except I consider 5 out of 5s to be virtually perfect comics and therefore don't given those out too often.

There is nothing wrong with a 3 out of 5 comic. In my mind, that is an "average comic" and by definition, most comics will fall into that category. Frankly, the average comic can be both somewhat imperfect and flawed yet still be an enjoyable read.

I do the same. A 5/5 has no flaws and I love it. Sometimes there might be flaws but I don't see them.
