I'm not getting out of comics; I'm more of a reader and not a collector, per se. I'm also a "make mine monthly" reader who's running out of storage space.

I have about eleven hundred comics I'd like to liquidate. They're mainly Marvel titles from about 2000 to the present. They're also all Mylite bagged with buffered boards.

I may not be a collector but I treat my books as if I were. The curious can check out my list on Nostomania; browse by seller djshalifoe.

The point of my thread is to seek advice on what the best method would be to liquidate one's entire collection all at once; my intention is not to solicit it here.

Anyway, eBay seems like a bad option and Nostomania isn't producing results. I have no local shop, so online is the only way I can do it.

If anyone knows of any other good options, please let me know?

Your best bet is probably to identify books that have some value and then wrap others around it in runs to sell on e-bay.

You might also check mycomicshop.com to see if they are buying and what -- last I heard they were only buying from those who had sold to them in the past.

Both of those require you to piecemeal the collection, which might be more time than you want to spend.

You could try donating them to a children's charity, hospital, heroes4 heroes, etc. the tax write-off might be the best you can do in this situation.

The problem with trying to sell fairly recent comics (1990 - present) is that there are lots of them around, and except for specific rare or hard to find issues, most dealers will most likely only give you pennies on the dollar.

If you don't want to deal with eBay, you are going to not get very much for a collection trying to sell it all in a chunk. If you really want to get rid of it all at once, try with a reputable dealer, but I'd almost imagine that postage for 1100 books would be almost as much as you would get from a dealer on the internet. I'm guessing 10-20 cents each if you try to sell them in one lot.

I'll second Trev's recommendation to try to bundle up runs and sell them on eBay for what you can get, you may be able to get 50 cents to $1 per book (or maybe more for in demand runs) there which is way more than you'll get trying to sell to a dealer.

PS: Mylites/boards will probably not enter into the equation with a dealer (unfortunately), but thyey may be a nice extra selling point to eBay buyers.
