If a significant # of people who want to be on the call are going to be a the NY Comic-Con, let us know and we can shift this one week later, but that would put it on Valentine's Day weekend, which will cause a whole other kind of problem......

The new Previews should hits the stands on Wed Jan 28th.
This means the February Previews call will be on Friday February 6th at 5pm Pacific / 6pm Mountain / 7pm Central / 8pm Eastern.

As always, get on Skype around the start time (or join any time after, the call can run 4 hours of rousing comics chat) and look for thejohnmayo message him to get joined into the call.

Submissions for the Previews Spotlight #016 show should be in by the end of Saturday February 7th. Of course you can start sending in submissions as soon as you have them done. Sending them in early is appreciated as it give us more time to organized the clips and plan out the episode.

Remember: We encourage anyone to send in a short audio clip where they can talk about any book that's coming out in the upcoming Previews that they are really excited about. The email address to send the clips to is TheGuys@ComicBookPage.com. (Some people were only send them to either just John or just Bob and we both need to get them to prepare to recording the episode. By using TheGuys email address, the email goes to both Bob and John.)

PLEASE: Each featured item should be in a separate audio file.

We would also appreciate it if you put the page number followed by the full name of the item in the filename. If you don't know the page number, that is fine. Just leave it off. But having the full name of the item the clip is for makes it much easier for us to organize the files and prepare for recording the episode.

Tips on how to record a clip can be found here.

Call dibs on reviewing any particular comic on this thread.

Links to on-line solicits (w/pictures) will be added as they become available:

Did you guys see this new Mark Waid super-hero book from Boom Studios?

Recently, I decided to stick with non-super-hero books when it comes to independent books, but I might have to break my rule and get this book.

I must say that despite John's affiliation with CBR, I really don't like the look of their previews. They have smaller cover images, and use up too much screen real estate on both the left & right for ads & links to other stuff on their site. Takes away from the space available for the actual story I am trying to read.

Comparing the above to the Comics Continuum previews for Image, I like the CC one better.....

I stopped going to Comics Continuum years ago because of the blinding color scheme they insist on using on the main page.

If I could get a feed for the Master Data File from Diamond with all of the solicitation information, I'd be more than happy to put together a highly searchable database of it here on the site...

I agree that the CC site (in general) is quite difficult to navigate around and the main page is an eyesore...... However, one you dig down to the individual solicits pages, they look pretty decent. That's the service I provide for our forum folks, direct links to the solicits so they don;t have to try to navigate the Continuum site.

You getting the Master feed and being able to host the solicits directly here would be SWEET!!!!

Particularly since I could hook it into the shipping and cancellation information. But so far, all of my attempts to get the Master Data File have been unsuccessful.
